Elective subject groups

The Bavarian secondary school offers three courses of study tailored to interests and talents. These so-called elective subject groups set different educational priorities from the 7th grade onwards. However, this does not commit the students to a specific career field. The individual elective subject groups differ essentially in terms of the profile subjects.

At the end of the 6th grade, you choose from one of these four areas, which, in addition to the subjects German, English and mathematics, determines your new focus and your further final examination subject.

  • In the seventh grade, the profile subject (physics, business studies, French or handicrafts) is added.

  • Since the Realschule is a general education school,

  • The individual groups differ only in a few subjects.

  • Special features of WPFG IIIa (French):

    • If you successfully complete your final examination in French, i.e. receive at least a grade of 4 in your final certificate, you will no longer need to learn a second foreign language to obtain the general higher education entrance qualification at the FOS.

The starting point of the lessons in all subjects is the students' world of experience. It is practice-based without sacrificing a scientific orientation. The topic of "career choice preparation" also takes up a lot of space and is dealt with across subjects.

At the end of the 10th grade, all students take a written final exam. The final exam consists of the subjects German, English, mathematics and the profile subject specific to the respective elective subject group.
