Course of the trial lesson

The trial lessons will take place in the 2024/25 school year from May 13th to 15th, from 8:15 a.m. to approximately 11:30 a.m. / 11:50 a.m.

  • Meeting point on Tuesday, May 13th at 08:15 in the main building auditorium

  • Please arrive as early as possible and not too early!

1 day

  • Organisational matters, classroom discussion German

  • Written work: reading skills, essay

  • Class discussion mathematics

  • Written work: Mathematics 1st part

2 day

  • Class discussion mathematics

  • Written work: Mathematics 2nd part

  • Class discussion German

  • Written work: spelling, language analysis

Day 3

  • Class discussion German

  • Class discussion mathematics

If a student is unable to attend the trial lesson due to illness, the office must be notified by 8:00 a.m. on 09621 915650. A medical certificate must be submitted as soon as possible.

Once a student has completed the trial lesson in full, health reasons can no longer be accepted retrospectively.

The trial lesson consists of classroom discussions and written exams in the subjects German and mathematics. There will be no snack sales during the trial lesson. Please provide your children with appropriate refreshments.

The evaluation takes place immediately after the trial lesson has ended. The result and the decision to accept or reject the child will be communicated to the parents or guardians in writing as soon as possible. Information will not be given over the telephone.

To pass the trial lesson, at least grades 3 and 4 are required.

Students who received a grade of 4 in both subjects in the trial lesson have failed the trial lesson. However, they have the option of transferring to the Realschule if their parents decide on this school career after a consultation.

Pupils who have unsuccessfully taken part in the trial lesson may no longer be admitted to repeat the trial lesson at a secondary school in the same calendar year.
